Macken concentrates her practice on corporate restructuring and insolvency matters, corporate finance transactions, and commercial law.

In restructuring and insolvency matters, she represents debtors, bankruptcy trustees, secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, institutional investors, and buyers in bankruptcy proceedings and other restructurings. She has advised management of debtor companies on business and legal issues, including ordinary course transactions, operational budget and financial projections, creditor issues and disputes, contractual relations, and reporting requirements.

In financing transactions, she represents lending institutions and borrowers in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of debtor-in-possession financing, asset-based transactions, unsecured loans, and other financing facilities. Macken also supports and represents organizations and financial institutions with economic opportunity initiatives in connection with microloans and social impact lending. In addition, Macken has experience in structured financing and asset securitization transactions.

Macken also has experience representing clients with respect to various commercial agreements and contract matters. She has represented and counseled companies in transactions related to structuring, negotiations and documentation of asset purchase and sale agreements.

Prior to joining Riemer & Braunstein, Macken served as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry J. Boroff of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts (1999-2001).
