Steven focuses on structuring complex asset based lending transactions, secured transactions of all sorts, in-court and out-of-court work-outs, bankruptcy, and business reorganization matters. His practice includes representation of secured lenders, debtors, and official and unofficial committees in bankruptcy courts in both New York jurisdictions and other venues, as well as mergers and acquisitions of distressed enterprises and related contract negotiations.

Steven has served as lead counsel to secured lenders in structuring, restructuring, and documenting asset-based lending transactions, advising secured lenders in complex workout matters, including debtor in possession and cash collateral facilities, as well as representing debtors, official and unofficial creditors' and equity committees, and other significant parties in national Chapter 11 cases. He also has performed transactional work in numerous cases with sellers, purchasers, lenders and secured and unsecured creditors of financially troubled companies, non-judicial restructurings and Chapter 11 reorganizations throughout the United States.

• Counsel to agent and lenders in documenting asset-based loan facility for national luggage retailer
• Counsel to senior secured lender in complex bankruptcy and restructuring of $100 million in receivables and real estate facilities of multi-resort timeshare company
• Counsel to senior secured lender under a $40 million receivables and floor plan financing facility in complex bankruptcy and sale of national watercraft manufacturer, distributor and retailer
• Counsel to senior secured lender in bankruptcy of regional printer and logistics company
• Counsel to senior secured lender under a $70 million inventory financing facility in bankruptcy and sale of national furniture retailer
• Counsel to hedge fund in complex bankruptcy and restructuring of software enterprise
• Counsel to hedge fund in claims trading activities
• Counsel to regional discount retailer in Chapter 11 restructuring
• Counsel to national furniture retailer in Chapter 11, including sale and liquidation of strategic assets
