Jeff focuses his practice in the area of commercial real estate transactions. Jeff regularly handles a broad range of transactions for institutional clients, including the representation of financial institutions in multi-lender real estate finance and workout transactions on a national basis. Jeff is well known for his ability to successfully represent bank groups ranging from several lenders to over 150 lenders. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff spent six years at Eurohypo AG, New York Branch where his responsibilities included involvement in every aspect of structuring and closing real estate finance transactions, including legal structuring of loans, working directly with credit officers to structure around particular concerns, and drafting and negotiating loan documents. Jeff was primarily responsible for developing Eurohypo's syndicated loan documentation programs, including senior secured term loans, construction loans, corporate loans, mezzanine loans, co-lender agreements, and intercreditor agreements, as well as maintaining and updating Eurohypo’s CMBS loan documentation program. Jeff’s practice also includes the closing and sale of CMBS loans, and Jeff has handled several billion dollars of CMBS loans.
During the recent economic downturn, Jeff's responsibilities principally included real estate workouts and restructurings, with direct involvement in troubled loans aggregating more than $6 billion.
